What You Can Do If Mosquitoes Have Taken Over This Summer

Blog

Those blood thirsty mosquitoes buzzing about can be very annoying. They can multiply quickly, leaving your yard a haven for these pests. If you have a lot of mosquitoes, you may feel like you have to come inside as soon as the sun goes down, leaving you unable to enjoy your yard during those warm summer months. If you have a lot of mosquitoes, there may be a few things you can do on your own to try and get rid of at least some of the population. Read on for helpful tips.

Install A Bat House

Bats consume a lot of mosquitoes and can help eat up the mosquitoes in your yard. If you have a lot of mosquitoes, these pests can help naturally get rid of them. You can find bat houses at most hardware stores, or you can build your own. Hang it up in a tree or up high on a pole. The bats will eventually find these houses and begin to use them, and you'll notice a difference in the mosquito population. Set the bat houses far enough away from your house to prevent them from being attracted to your home.

Remove Water Sources

Remove all water sources that have standing water, as this is where the mosquitoes can lay their eggs and multiply. Empty the standing water that you have and continue to monitor the area for other areas of standing water. Standing water can accumulate in any type of basin or low-lying area, so if you have standing water in your grass, you should fill in the holes.

Fog Your Own Yard

Use a pesticide fog to help kill the mosquitoes in your yard. Spraying with this fog is safe, and it can help allow you to enjoy the outdoors for at least the night without getting too bit up by mosquitoes. You can find a fog mosquito pesticide at your local hardware store. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on how to use it and when to spray it. Keep small children and pets inside until the fog settles.

If you have a mosquito problem, you should hire a pest control company to have your lawn treated. A pest control company can also give you tips on how to keep the mosquito population down in your yard and advise you on other things you can do to help keep the mosquitoes at bay in between lawn treatments.

Understanding Pest Control Products

Hey, I’m Trinity Bonner. Welcome to my site. I am here to discuss pest control products for individuals and professionals. There are various levels of pest control products on the market today. In the initial phases, individuals can use commercially available products to keep pests out of the home and kill those that invade. If the infestation worsens or continues, it may be necessary to call in a professional to use stronger products to eliminate the problem. I will use this site to explore these products, and their application requirements, in more detail. Please visit my site often to learn more.
