Are you having trouble with fleas in your home? Your pet may have caught the fleas while running around in the backyard or hanging out at the dog park. Now that your pet has fleas, you may be finding them in different rooms all around the home and you could be struggling to get rid of them for good. You'll need to take action before the fleas spread, especially since they can cause tapeworm if an infected flea is accidentally swallowed by your pet or anyone in the home.
Start Vacuuming and Cleaning
Once your pet has fleas, there's a good chance these pests are hanging around in the carpet throughout the rooms of your home. The best thing to do is vacuum each room. If you're using a vacuum cleaner without a bag, make sure to empty it out in a trash bag and seal it shut right away so that the fleas can't make their way out of the bag. If you're using a vacuum cleaner with a bag, simply take the bag out and dispose of it in the trash.
If you're worried some fleas may be on your bed sheets or even on other areas where your pet sleeps or spends time, consider stripping the beds of all sheets and blankets and throwing them in the washing machine. It's better to clean the sheets and blankets than to sleep in a bed where fleas are lingering.
Get Rid of Fleas on Your Pet
You'll need to focus on getting the fleas off of your pet so that they're not spreading even further. Although some fleas may now be living in the carpet or on some of your linens, they prefer to spend most of their time on a host, so treating your pet for fleas will help you get rid of many of these annoying pests. You can purchase an over-the-counter medication for your pet that will kill any of the existing fleas that are hanging on its skin an fur.
Have an Insecticide Sprayed in the Home
When dealing with a severe flea infestation, it's good to have an insecticide sprayed throughout the home. You could contact a pest control company to find out about the insecticides they'd use in the home, such as sprays or powders that would need to be applied to floors and other surfaces. Sometimes it's simply better to let a pest control company help with the flea problem instead of trying to battle the problem alone.
Anyone with a pet could end up with fleas in their home at some point. If you've got a lot of fleas in the home, it's time to do a thorough vacuuming job, clean all bedding, give a flea treatment to your pet, and get help from a pest control company like Blackburn Pest Control.

Hey, I’m Trinity Bonner. Welcome to my site. I am here to discuss pest control products for individuals and professionals. There are various levels of pest control products on the market today. In the initial phases, individuals can use commercially available products to keep pests out of the home and kill those that invade. If the infestation worsens or continues, it may be necessary to call in a professional to use stronger products to eliminate the problem. I will use this site to explore these products, and their application requirements, in more detail. Please visit my site often to learn more.
